Yesterday afternoon, a meeting was held between the leaders of Anpas Emilia-Romagna and the President of the Region, Michele de Pascale.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 17, the first meeting was held between the Presidency of Anpas Emilia-Romagna, an organization that brings together 109 public assistance groups from all the provinces of Emilia-Romagna with approximately 20,000 volunteers, and Michele de Pascale, who was elected President of Emilia-Romagna a few weeks ago. “It was an important meeting for getting to know each other,” explained Iacopo Fiorentini, President of Anpas Emilia-Romagna. “We explained to President de Pascale the fundamentals and most recent developments of our association, but also our needs in order to provide the best possible service and how we could plan for the near future on fundamental issues such as healthcare and civil protection, as well as the opportunities offered by the universal civil service. This first meeting will certainly be followed by others with regional councilors on technical aspects within their remit. I must say that it was a very positive meeting. We made it clear to the President that we are here and want to continue to be here to do everything that is required of us in terms of services for the people of our region, with the daily commitment of the thousands of volunteers who make up our network.”
President Michele de Pascale stated: “I would like to thank the leaders of Anpas Emilia-Romagna for this meeting, which I consider truly important and significant. We are fully aware of the vital contribution of the third sector, and in particular of regional public assistance services, within the local healthcare system, but also in terms of civil protection, as unfortunately demonstrated by the extreme weather events we have experienced on several occasions over the last year and a half. I am sure that our collaboration with Anpas will continue to be very fruitful.”
